Hi Suzanne:
I can tell you in my case, I started having adhesions from 28 years of
chronic appendicitis which ruptured 3 years ago. The infection from the
chronic flare ups caused adhesions--the bowel stuck to the back of the
pelvis, the uterus stuck to the bowel, etc.
After appendectomy, had more adhesions with a peritoneal cyst as a
result of that surgery.
