Not wanting to give medical advice, I might suggest that tylenol -- which has a very different pain action than aspirin, Advil, or Aleve -- might not help as much as these NSAIDS. NSAIDS -- non- steroidal anti-inflammatorys -- reduce pain by reducing inflammation.

There are both over-the-counter drugs and prescription drugs that have the same sort of action. The problem is being sure that they don't cause stomach bleeding.

My surgeon has me on Advil (ibuprofen) 3 times a day, and I have found a good reduction in pain. I still must watch what I eat.

While it seems strange that Advil might do more good than an opiate, it seems to have done so for me. I was on opiates all summer with little relief, ending with a complete bowel obstruction.

I would think that Vioxx and Celebrex, the very effective arthritis drugs might also be of help with adhesions. Since I'm pretty new to this field, although not to adhesions, I don't know.
