HI Brokenwing...

I am having much the same problems, with adhesions in my small intestines.

Why can't you eat dairy? Have you tried getting some lactaid to help digest the dairy better?

I have found...soups, cream soups and those with very soft veggies in them...chewed, YES, chew even the soup ingredients...make sure what ever goes down your throat is as soft and chewed up as possible, drink lots of liquid with it. I can tolerate soda crackers, chewed well..or dipped in the soup. Regular breads kill me, I think they must turn into balls of dough in your stomach. :-/

Jello, puddings, yogurt, ice cream, ..I bought slim fast with soy...and mix that with milk once a day, for the nutrients, it's loaded with vitimins and minerals. ..I can also eat cream of wheat on occasion. DRINK a lot...what ever you can tolerate in liquids...that's vital. BUT I had to buy myself some lactaid, as most semi solids or liquids are dairy based...and I've always been borderline lactrose intolerant.

SMALL meals..and portions. Eat a bit, let is settle..and see how you feel...go slow..don't eat a lot at once. I've managed a soft scrambled egg once or twice, but every now and then it bothers me..it's a trail and error thing. But if you aren't eating a lot of fiber, I doubt you'll get that constipated again. IF I ate a lot of fiber, I'd die! :-( I can't imagine it! Cottage cheese and soft fruit..like apple sause has also worked for me.

I've lost about 58 in a little over 2 months. I understand! But I think you can eat a bit, if you are careful...

SOUNDS All to familiar!

Start slow, if you have to, liquidify the soups...or eat only broths and creamed ones to start...see what you can tolerate. And at first you may get some diarrhea, because your system isn't use to food..but just try it slowly.

I understand hon, it's hard...on everyone! I'd planned to do some things today...as I had been feeling a bit better..but ate a bit of pasta last night, and upset things :-(...you just never know, there's good and bad days...so the old adage, take it one day at a time...really applies here. I'm in the process of getting set up with doctors in Colorado, as I just moved from Oklahoma. Thought I was all better before the move, as I'd had adhesions and gall bladder removed a year ago this month. But the adhesions came back. NOW I must find a doctor educated in preventing their return as well as removing them.

I can afford the weight loss, as I've always been heavy...how thin have you become? Have you discussed this with your doctor? I'd suggest if you can get some lactaid so you can tolerate lactrose...get something like milk sakes, with lots of calories, and see if you can get the weight back up a bit. Malts would work too. How often do we get permission to eat ice cream!? :-)

I also think there's all kinds of protien power and the like at health food stores to help in that area too. The most important thing is to keep up the vitimins and nutrients so you don't get mal nourished.

I'm sorry, I will need to back track on the emails to read your whole story. But I hope this helps a little and I and the rest of the group are here...you are not alone. love and hugs Linda Beebe
