Dear Julie, Hi my name is colette! I had a hysterectomy last dec. I'm glad i had it done! I also had adenomyosis, i kept my overies and as far as that goes i'm doing fine i'm glad not to have my periods anymore! But i would really sit down and weigh your options before running into doing a hysterectomy it is major surgery and you can put yourself at risk for adhesions! I since my surgery have suffered from terrible bm problems i'm addicted to laxatives now and sleeping pills! I'm in pain on and off i know i have adhesions its not a picknic!! There is something called ablation of the uterus where they can go in there in clean it out! I do know you can prolong it but with adno your uterus will keep growing!! I think maybe you should seek a second opion! There is a web site called Hystersisters.com, they are a wonderful bunch of ladies that could help you in that decision! But please don't rush just because 1 dr told you thats what you need! best of luck to you! Love colette
