Dear Angela, In your message you said: "I am looking for any documentation, history, personal experience or medical opinion stating that preganacy can help cure the pain caused by abdominal adhesions"......."Recently my doctor recommended that I have another child to cure my pain."

It is apparent to me that your doctor does NOT know anything about adhesions!! If you know that you have adhesions - and especially if you are unaware of the extent of your adhesions - there is possibility that a pregnancy could cause problems not only for you but also for your unborn child!! A fetus needs room to grow and develop; but when adhesions are present - and depending upon the extent of the adhesions, where the adhesions are located and what the adhesions are attached to - this could cause problems!!

If you have endo, I have read that a pregnancy can help "postpone" the effects of endo; but a pregnancy will "never" cure endo and definitely will NOT cure you or anyone else of adhesions. After the baby is born, endo will return and could be even more painful.

I agree with those, who have already responded to your message. Your doctor apparently does NOT know anything about adhesions - nor does your doctor know anything about adhesions...or endo. If you have endo, you need to find a doctor, who not only specializes in endo but who also knows the truth about adhesions!! Not every doctor is an endo specialist; and not every doctor is an adhesion specialist.

The only way that you will know whether or not your doctor is giving you good advise about either adhesions or endo - or both - is for you to learn as much as you can BEFORE you select a doctor, who will serve your needs with compassion and honesty. There is alot of information in the International Adhesions Society Archives about adhesions and endometriosis. Scroll to the bottom of this page and enter a search word of your choice about adhesions (and endo - if you have endo). Knowledge will give you the power to interact intelligently with your doctor!!

Recently my doctor recommended that I have another child to cure my pain. This is a huge step as I hadn't planned on any additional children. (Although I love them and find this diagnosis to be a pleasant one.) My concern is...if I did make the commitment and have another child...is this really going to work?
