Karla: Adhesions form within the first 10 days after surgery. They sometimes get tougher as the years go by. I don't know what type of scan your doctor is talking about. There is no way to tell if you have adhesions for sure unless they go in and look. You could have something wrong with your bile ducts instead, or something else in that area. I had my gallbaldder removed two years ago and I also have pain there. No adhesions though. What I eat tends to make mine worse. There is no diet for adhesions. You just have to learn what you eat that causes most of your pain and avoid that. Also you can form adhesions any where they hae cut on you. I would seek another opinion. Maybe go see a gastroenterologist. You could have ulcers causing your pain. A GI doctor could do the necessary testing needed to check everything out in htat area. Keep me posted.
