Your question is a very difficult one to answer and I have to say it differs from individual to individual. There are so many variables, experience of the surgeon, number of surgeries, other problems such as endometriosis etc etc etc
If you read the stories here on the board and on the adhesions quilt you will find some people can get years of relief from one surgery, while others are lucky to get a few days before the pain comes back, often worse than ever. The other factors include your mental state, the amount of support and understanding you get from family & friends... others find adhesions barriers have reduced by half or more the number of adhesions returning after surgery.
I have created an Australian Adhesions support group, and there is a section called "How to Cope" perhaps you will find something that will help you with the pain until you finish your research and asking questions... then you have to find a doctor who believes in adhesions and you feel comfortable and safe with. If you manage to find all this, then you have a chance.
I am always happy t answer more questions, here or privately.
