Re: About Interceed

There are 2 big problems with Interceed. First of all, the interceed does not work at all if there is any blood left in the abdomen. This means that the surgeon must spend hours and hours and hours meticulously tying off every "bleeder" and "oozer" that's been created by the surgery. A nasty little secret is that there is no insurance company in the US that will actually come close to paying enough money to compensate a surgeon for that sort of meticulous work. So either you have a surgeon who is doing a 10-hour surgery on you basically for free and an anesthesiologist who is in there for 10 hours and only getting paid for 1 hour, etc. Or you are having the quick-and-dirty butcher job (which is all that your insurance is actually paying for) done on you and it is only making your adhesions so much worse. The 2nd problem with interceed is that some significant minority of people seem to be allergic to it. If you already have an adhesion problem, then setting off a massive allergic reaction in your abdomen is like throwing a hand grenade in your belly...
