Nancy,
You are going to get many responses to this
quesion. A lot of people believe that surgery
should never be done because they cause more
adhesions. Others (like me) believe that surgery
can help relieve the pain. The one thing I will
tell you is that you should not have a "diagnostic"
lap.
If they are going in, they should at least
remove the adhesions & endo causing the problem.
Also, I would highly suggest finding a really
good doc to do the lap. It is importnat to have
an endo specialist deal with it.
I also wanted to let you know something one of
my docs told me.
Apparently, the uro-sactial ligamnet (I am not
sure how to spell it) can cause pain on the right
side. I did not know that before my last lap.
I had my right ovary & tube removed because most
of my pain is on my right side. My pain is still
mostly on the right side. Apparently the
adhesions on that ligament is causing me pain.
Good luck. I hope you get some relief.
