Adhesions or something else?

Wondering what you all think.
I had a small bowel strangulation in Feb. The surgeon thought it was
probably cuased by adhesions (he never really gave me a definitive
answer?) ---I had a prior appendectomy(prior as in 33 years ago I'm now
35) and a c-section 5 years ago. In March another visit to the ER for
extreme pain again (actually worse than the strangulation pain) It
lasted only an hour and resolved before the ER doc even saw me. Due to
having had surgery only weeks prior they still did x-rays and observed
me for a few hours. X-rays showed small bowel dilation. Since my
surgery in Feb. I've had some pain in my upper abdomen--it comes and
goes and a lot of belly sounds. I'm taking bentyl once a day now.
Since the strangulation I've had x-rays, an upper GI, and an abdominal
ultrasound----all have come back unremarkable.
Prior to the strangulation I've never had any kind of abdominal pain,
constipation, diahrreah, or this incessant gurggling.
Sound like adhesions? I'm confused by the gurggling but I guess it could
be due to all the antibiotics making the bowel differnt.
I'm seeing a specialist in a few weeks.
Also, prior to both "attacks" I used the elliptical machine at the
gym---my general surgeon said "just coincidence" I beg to differ.
Thanks
